Lately

As usual, I'll be updating you via a hodgepodge of random facts about our life.

1. I've recently become knowledgeable about constellations and the mythological stories that go with the Greek and Roman versions, the Chinese versions, the African versions, and the Native American versions. My school district purchased a traveling planetarium that is pretty neat-o, and it was my school's turn to host it for the past two weeks. I'm positive the kids enjoyed themselves, and I did, too. Although, now you can't go outside with me after dark for awhile because I will not shut up about the constellations and their stories. ;)

 Here it is, looking like a big, plastic whale:

2. Jon has been practicing his handy man skills. He changed the oil on both of our cars, and then my car's battery died, so he had to jump that to move it and replace the battery. This weekend, he's working on our little flower bed. He works hard, and I'm really lucky that he does!

3. I am officially a quarter of a century old. Sigh. I'm not feelin' too hot about that, but I guess I'll get over it. I got a few birthday gifts and cards at work, Jon and I went out with some friends to celebrate, and I got to hang out and relax because my birthday was on a Saturday, which happens like, never. The following is a picture of some flowers Jon brought home for me -- not for my birthday, but they're too pretty not to include in this post. :) They may be my new favorite type of flower.

4. Traffic continues to be a beast here in Texas. My normal commute to work takes anywhere from 20-30 minutes. On Thursday, however, it took 75 minutes. SEVENTY-FIVE. There was a wreck that caused me to take SEVENTY-FIVE minutes to travel about 10 miles. Blech. {The people in this state drive like idiots. I'm not joking -- I was driving side-by-side next to another car, and a motorcylist literally shot right between us. Terrifying!} However, I did get some entertaining tweets out of it:

{If you don't get my song references or the hilarity of my tweets, you need to start YouTubin'. STAT.}

Side note: WHY do I not have my own reality TV show?! I PROMISE that I would make it funny enough to be worth America's while...

Other side note: If you're not already following me on Twitter, you probably should. I tweet some real gems. I make myself laugh out loud, so... ya know. Don't miss out.

5. Both Jon and I are on diets. His work is doing a "biggest loser" competition, and I'm just wanting to feel better in general. We did really well for the first 3 weeks, and then the week of my birthday, things took a turn for the worst, and I'm pretty sure we both gained back all the weight we'd lost. Hah. Jon is doing P90X, and I've done it with him a couple of times... let me tell you: it is cray. It kinda makes me hate working out even more than I already do, which I thought was impossible.

...That's all I've got. Ta-ta for now.
